Rails and wooden planks - that was the focus on our first stage of the Kungsleden . First we arrived by train from Kiruna, but the Swedish railway has once again thwarted our plans with its delay. If you think the German railway is late, you haven't been to Lapland by train yet! . Since we don't have time to complete the first stage due to the late arrival, we spontaneously make a short detour to the tunnel of the Abiskojåkka. When the railway was under construction they decided to build a tunne

Have a look and read how it all began: you’ll find the link in our bio!
A year ago we went hiking on the Schluchtensteig in the southern Black Forest (link in bio). @schwarzwaldcamp we slept in our new @hilleberg_the_tentmaker Kaitum tent for the first time. It has proved to be very reliable since then, especially during our tour through Norwegian and Swedish Lapland last summer. It is super spacious and perfectly designed for a trekking holiday with your dog!

Rest day and very last day of our vacation in Lapland. Enjoying the silence, vastness and the pure water we drink right from the rivers one more time. The sauna and fantastic dinner in Saltoluokta and best of all some polar lights round off this perfect vacation. Check out the full blog post via the link in our bio. Lapland we will be back!
Finishing a trekking tour, arriving after being in the wild for a while, is always accompanied by mixed emotions. On the one hand we are proud to have made it there, but on the other hand there is always a bit of melancholy about giving up the freedom of the mountains. By the way, we think that Saltoluokta is a wonderful place helping us to get back into civilisation. It is beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Langas, offering not only silence and deceleration but also an amazing restauran
You love traveling and you want to take your dog with you? So do we! But how can you realise a long distance journey as pleasant as possible? By train or by car? Or maybe even by plane!? In our new blog post (link in bio) we explain to you how we do long journeys with Lando by plane.
It looks so vernal everywhere outside! The warm weather and the sun are feeling so good these days. On one of our last tours we found this fungus on a dead birch tree. Can anyone help us with the identification? Is that a tinder fungus?

We enjoyed the beautiful sunshine hours with a walk along the Neckar river. Lando could not resist and started the bathing season at an outdoor temperature of two degrees. During the following shaking he made sure that in times of Corona everybody kept a safe distance!

Do you know this situation? After a long and exhausting day, you set up your camp. You just want to eat something warm and enjoy the camp romance in peace. That works well in Lapland. Very well... if it weren't for the mosquitoes. In our new blog article we show you what you can do against the biting nuisances and what experiences we have made with the various anti-mosquito products. For more info see link in our bio.
After the storms we had expected a cold front! Unfortunately there is no sign of the longed-for onset of winter. Nevertheless, our self-built bird house is well accepted. We have already seen great tits and blue tits, blackbirds, robins, bullfinches and nuthatches. Which birds come to your feeding places? W
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Rest days are best days - according to this motto we did nothing for one day in Kvikkjokk. Well, almost nothing, actually we were on the move around the Fjällstation a little. And there we discovered the impressive Gamajåhkå river. It is a wild river, where only the salmon catching bears were missing. And then Lando found something very special on the beach... got curious? You can find the whole article as always on our blog, link to it in the bio. Rest days are best days - ganz unter diesem Mo
We have been hiking! But where? Who knows it, who recognises this characteristic and very famous mountain in the Rhineland?
If you can't go trekking for several weeks at the moment, you can also discover exciting things and great places on weekend hikes or even during a short walk. We spent some time last weekend at the Ewaldsee in North Rhine-Westphalia: Right across from this great resting place there is a small island with a huge variety of water birds. Besides swans and grey herons, we also spotted some black coots and even a shy kingfisher. You will find more exciting day hikes on our Blog (Link in bio). • • Wen
The sixth day on Kungsleden brings us really bad weather. It is raining heavily and we hike quite silently towards Kvikkjokk. Our shoes are soaking wet after only a few meters. Nevertheless we continue walking and keep our spirits up by the thought of a warm bed, good food, a sauna and a hot shower awaiting us in Kvikkjokk after several days outside. When we arrive in Kvikkjokk the weather is already slowly getting better! You’ll find the link to the complete article in our bio. By the way, you

The fifth hiking day on Kungsleden leads us over the ridge at Goabddábakte. There we have an incredible panoramic view! The following plateau fascinates us with reindeer and autumnal colours. Through a ravine we finally descend to the emergency hut Tsielekjåkkstugan, where we find shelter from the beginning rain. You can find the whole article in the link in the Bio!
We have been hiking with the @Vivobarefoot Magna Trail barefoot shoes for a year now. In the meantime, initial scepticism has given way to the realisation that our feet need less than we think. They even passed the endurance test on our trekking tour through Lapland last summer! We can't even imagine hiking with the thick hiking boots we used to wear. Do you want to know more about our experiences with barefoot hiking boots? Then take a look at our latest article: "Barefoot shoes long-term test
