Our inner cobra is made up of the psoas major muscle and the diaphragm considered together as a functional unit. While these are often depicted as separate in the anatomy books, in the dissection lab the fascial connections are very clear between the diaphragm and the psoas major.
In the picture above you can see in 1. how an anterior tilt of the pelvis will affect the joints and basically internally rotate your femur and tibia as well as pronate your foot. In 2. you see how coupled with the joint mechanics of 1 you will get a specific pattern of muscle compensations to go along with your anterior tilt.
Shoulder pain and shoulder injuries are among the most common conditions within the general population and among athletes. Approximately 75 to 80% of these are caused by conditions related to the rotator cuff (1). The rotator cuff consists of four muscles, including the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis and teres minor. These
