This series of silicone paintings is an attempt to explore the history of the self through the spectrum of materiality. These artworks combine synthetic and organic materials which can either co-exist within harmony or extreme contrast. This results in ambiguous textile-like surfaces stitched around metal frames with copper wire, placing these paintings within three dimensions.

As a designer and artist I am passionate about the part pure design can play in art, and in particular in painting. The Chrysler Building provides such an opportunity to use shape, pattern, and colour in painting. This Manhattan icon offers excitement and design in a painting. Working quickly and spontaneously at large scale was made possible using the rich colours and quick drying of water mixable oil on smooth board.
Is this a jungle, a garden or just some random imagined corner of landscape? The mystery of "Purple Inside" is part of it's charming uncertainty - all of the above answers might be correct. Fueled by his passion for green landscapes, Dominic Virtosu's brush continues to create lavish natural vistas for the eye to relish on.
This is based on a shadow I used in a series of works – a shadow that was falling onto some steps outside a house in Dallas. The shadow in this painting flattens the surface, and the negative space around it is the only part recognisable as steps, though due to this flattening, they are read in a more abstract way.

This is a painting showing the entrance to the Hudson Yards shopping center here in Manhattan, looking down from an upper floor.
Lake-3 is the first work of the series "Lakes and Sea, Lakes and Me"; it documents the travel around Southern Europe and records the massive drying up of lakes due to climate change and agricultural activity. The Martian landscapes of the lake bottoms create peculiar anthropological sights printed in time, exposing the region's history left as a chronicle of a slow catastrophe.
