British; Cavalry Trooper, Shirtsleeve order, India 1937. Gives a nice view of Respirator Haversack Mk. V, shown here in cavalry configuration worn on the back with the shoulder sling attached to one of the D-rings on the front of the haversack. The bag is kept in place by a by a small loop of cord on the sling engaging one of the shirt buttons. Note also the puttees worn cavalry style, wound from the knee downward with tapes at the ankle.
