On March 5, 2001, 15 year-old Santana High student Charles Andrew Williams began shooting, killing two, and wounding thirteen. Bryan Zuckor, a fellow student, was the first killed, as he and another student, Trevor Edwards, were shot in the bathroom where Williams began. Williams then exited the bathroom and headed for the High School quad, where he opened fire on surrounding students and faculty. He fatally shot another student, Randy Gordon, and wounded twelve others.
Daniel Petric, 16, could face life in prison if convicted of killing his mother and attempting to murder his father, a pastor at a Wellington church.
