I really think we need one of these at the Museum! 1853 American Square piano at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York - This spectacular piece of workmanship was made by Robert Nunns and John Clark, and may have been placed in the Crystal Palace in New York City. Square pianos like this had been superseded by uprights in Europe by this time, but remained in fashion in North America until the 1880s.
