The window between the bookshelves was created to relieve the tightness of the walls and the front of the bookshelves became a center of communication where the whole family can gather and spend time. The kitchen is placed facing the bookshelf so that it can communicate with the family in the living room at any time.

Located in the busy alley of Cheongdam-dong in Seoul, this building not only needs to respond with sensitivity to its surrounding environment but also establish itself as an unfamiliar landscape in order to envigorate the street itself. In addition, the building, as a neighborhood living facility, has to cope with the potential changes to its internal program, such as offices, retail shops, cafes, and as a residential quarter. To emphasize the outstanding center of the place and its characteristic setting, the whole design is oriented on the centerpiece. By arranging the furniture in the room a certain way, easy and direct access to the center and an excellent view down into the arrival hall and the restaurant is ensured.
