A native Australian parrot which is widespread. . . . Calling someone a galah in Australia is a traditional way of questioning their intelligence. "Ya flaming galah" is as common in Oz as calling someone a "goose" in other parts of the world. Galahs (the bird) do come across as being a little stupid as they waddle around eating grass seeds. They do much on wing.
