Chang Dao (長刀, long sabre) or Dan Dao (單刀, lit. 'Single sabre'), later renamed as Miao Dao (苗刀, lit. 'Sprout sabre') during Republican period, is the Chinese adoption of Japanese ōdachi (大太刀). Contrary to popular belief, Chang Dao has no connection with any older form of Chinese two-handed swords from earlier dynasties.
More than just a pure geometric figure, the star-shaped pentagram is also rich in meaning. Since ancient times it has been adopted by Sumerian, Christian, and Chinese cultures, and even today still plays a key role in the modern Wicca movement. So too, this medallion, with its nature-worshiping message, clearly has a spiritual vibe with a touch of fantasy. Moon pentacle necklace in sterling silver.
