This Film Education day is taking place at the Lighthouse Brighton, it is in partnership with the Cinecity Festival  and delivered by Screen South on behalf of Artswork, the South East Bridge organisation.  We will also be joined by Into Film, the new BFI backed organisation for film and young people who are leading a unified programme for watching, making and learning about film. Maria Magdalene Dietrich was born in Berlin-Schöneberg, Germany, on Dec 27, 1901.  She began her carreeer as violinist but in, she got the role of “Lola-Lola” in UFA‘s production, The Blue Angel (1930). The film was the first German sound film, was directed by Josef von Sternberg and is noted for introducing Marlene’s signature song “Falling in Love Again“.  Marlene Dietrich in Morocco For Morocco (1930) she received her only Oscar nomination.
