Anger is referred to as a “secondary emotion” because we tend to use anger to cover up other vulnerable feelings. This is such a good reminder for the next time you feel angry at your partner, as a parent, or for when your kid acts angry.

Yet by mholtzen I started using the word “Yet” with my students a couple years ago. When a child says, “But I don’t get it,” or “I can’t do this,” which happens often in my land of perfectionists, I add the word, “Yet” to the end of their declaration.

By adding "yet" to the end of sentences, a growth mindset will be promoted and a sense of capabilities and pride will be established. We are life-long learners and a growth mindset addresses that.
