Putting your face on the map holds an entirely different meaning to artist and illustrator Ed Fairburn. The English creative unleashes his talents on vintage road maps and star charts, using them as canvases for expressive cross-hatched portraits. Roads, borders, and rivers are filled with shaded regions and patterns that make up each portrait and give the effect of something secretly hidden in the topography. Fairburn will be exhibiting his work at the Mike Wright Gallery in Denver.
