The Presley suite was later redecorated to match the king's flamboyant tastes, including a gold-plated toilet. A premium was charged to use the suite. "We had a devil of a time with the young people who would try to climb up on the roof of Elvis' suite and steal the room-service plates and implements he used," Herman Jung, who was hotel manager from 1969 to 1990, said in a 1990 interview.
