Eurasian lynx or Siberian lynx (Lynx lynx) - photo by , via Wikipedia;  This is a medium-sized cat native to European and Siberian forests, Central Asia and East Asia. It is the largest lynx, ranging from 31 to 51 inches long, and standing about 28 inches at the shoulder.  The tail is only 4 - 9.8 inches long and has a black tip.  There are black tufts on its ears, and a long ruff at its neck. The fur almost always has black spots, but it varies in number and pattern.
