Yemenite Jewish Bride In a traditional Yemenite Jewish wedding, the bride wears jewelry and an elaborate headdress decorated with flowers and leaves. These are believed to ward off evil. Gold threads are also woven into the fabric of her clothes and wedding celebrations traditionally last seven days.

Kosovar - Brides in Donje Ljubinje, a tiny town in Kosovo, paint their faces in stunning patterns and embellish them with sequins for their wedding day. The makeup is said to ward off bad luck and has been a part of the wedding celebration since the town was founded. The bridal effect is finished off with colorful handmade clothing.
