Park House was the birthplace of Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1961. But the family history goes back further. In the 1930s, King George V leased Park House to his friend Edmund Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy. He and his wife (later a Woman of the Bedchamber and close confidante to The Queen Mother), had 3 children born at Park House, one Frances (Diana's mother) in 1936. She married John Spencer, Viscount Althorp in 1954, they took over the Park House lease, and Diana was born here 7 years later.

Sandringham House, Norfolk. Rebuilt on a grand scale by Edward VII in 1870, seriously embarrassing his finances. Designed by obscure architect A.J. Humbert in Elizabethan style, in red brick with stone dressings. Additions and alterations made by R.W. Edis in 1883 and 1891. The house is still privately owned by the British Royal Family.
