Stuart Vevers and Selena Gomez at the 2017 Met Gala
Celebrity Stylist Kate Young on What It Takes to Get Met Gala–Ready
I met Stuart [Vevers] and his team at a super-luxe hotel bungalow where they had set up a little showroom. There were a million fabrics, embellishments, accessories, and two amazing toiles. Stuart is utterly lovely and his team is so talented and creative. It was super easy, except that we liked both toiles and weren’t able to decide. Selena didn’t come to New York until Monday morning, which is insane. I’ve never fit for such a big event the day of.
One of the oldest fashion houses in the world, Loewe Madrid knows how to make leather luxurious and that knowledge was front and center in this fall/winter '12 line. What's to love: coats with buckles on the collar and beaded leather with laser cutouts. Textures through this line are so rich one is tempted to reach out and touch them, which could get awkward if one doesn't know the person wearing it, but delightful if one does.
