October 1789 – French Revolution- Women of Paris march to Versailles in the March on Versailles

1789- Organized European feminism first sprouts in Revolutionary France, as it will again in the revolutions of 1848 (when it will also spread to Germany) & 1871, suffering setbacks during the Napoleonic regimes. By the 1850s, European feminism will have spread to Russia, where its repression will move many women into the revolutionary camp there.
