use a toilet paper roll as an iPhone speaker. Not a high quality speaker, of course, but I did notice the difference. Nice as a stand too. My nerdy self tried a paper towel tube too, not as effective. Adding paper cones to direct the sound was not helpful either, just in case you thought to try that too :-)
