Functional Toddler Kitchen

Inspired by Montessori in Real Life's functional toddler kitchen I thought this was the perfect, practical setup for our small apartment. It's not necessary to have both a kitchen helper (Code: Nursling for 10% off) and a functional toddler kitchen, but I've found that they serve different purposes in our home. Her kitchen helper involves her in creating family meals with me, something I couldn't achieve if I were to try and work at her small kitchen! Her kitchen helper is where she assists with measuring and scooping, and blending and processing (always very supervised!) Her small kitchen provides more fluidity for her. She's stable with two feet on the ground and not limited in her movements. She can carry things to and from her small table, and it provides her with more autonomy for snacks or getting water. She can set her table and there is a place for all of her dishes and utensils. She's also able to help clean out the dishwasher and bring all of items to their easily accessible, designated area. I've linked the sources for everything below! Kitchen (modified) Shelf Peg Rail Broom Dust Pan and Brush Water Jug Utensil Holder (Utensils are a mix of this set, and others that I picked up in person from World Market) Sustainable Kitchen Print White Utensil Trays We use the Largest Cutting Board from this set of 3! She started with these plates when we introduced solids, but now she has a variety of appetizer plates from Anthropologie. After reading 'French Kids Eat Everything' I couldn't help myself but to get her some really gorgeous plates to make meal times special. She started with these glass cups when we introduced solids and has never had a sippy cup or cup with a lid. She now uses these glasses. For her plant milk in the morning she prefers a mug like we have for our coffee! I purchased two espresso cups from a local ceramicist for her. When she started pouring her own milk and water, we offered these pitchers, but now she uses a larger ceramic one, also from Anthropologie. She started solids with these forks and spoons. But now she uses a set from the Magnolia Hearth and Hand Collection which are a bit longer and have more weight to them. They are so lovely but I don't think Target carries them anymore unfortunately. She also has a set of butter knives for spreading. For smoothies on the go we use these glass cups with lids (note: she has the original version which didn't have silicone sleeves!) For bowls we use these ramekins and some enamel ones we found locally Her apron was made by her Gigi She has a small wicker basket in her kitchen that has cloths for cleaning The basket next to the kitchen is for used cloths, not garbage Her ceramic colander is also from Anthropologie but is not sold online
