Ottoman yatagan, 19th c, gold inlaid blade, silver-gilt grip and scabbard with filigree rosettes to sides and pommel, repousse silver scabbard with cartouches on a floral ground, gilded terminal and upper, 74.5cm. Inscribed:owner "Asıl(?) Agha", the dog of the Seven Sleepers "Qitmir"; other side "bıcak elde gerek / delde sübhan tawakkuli 'ala khaliqi / ghayrat [?] ahmad", "In the hand one must have a dagger, and 'Praise Him!' in one's heart, my dependance is on my creator Ghayrat [?] Ahmad".

Ottoman kilij, 18th-19th century, damascus / wootz steel blade, brass mounts with traces of gilding, spiral stitched leather on wood scabbard, horn grips with light restoration. Length is 37", blade is 31".
