The work of Australian photographer Bill Henson is a sensual journey into a dark, sensate, and ephemeral world. He is well-known for traversing and troubling the lines that demarcate time and space, identity, and artistic genre; as stated on the Tolarno Galleries website, he is an “explorer of twilight zones, between nature and civilization, youth and adulthood, male and female. His photographs are painterly tableaux that continue the traditions of romantic literature and painting”

Bill Henson- This image is very intriguing. Henson has captured emotion beautifully by having a closed crop he has disregarded a lot of information allowing the image not to fully reviled itself, this technique pushes the viewer to unpack the image for themselves, this is important to my work as a viewer i feel I'm pushed to be more connected to this image then if it reviled itself, i want to push my viewers the same way
