Iris Agate - Brazil - 8.6 x 3.6 x .15 cm - finely banded agate, its nickname from the beautiful rainbow effect produced by an optical phenomenon known as diffraction when viewed in transmitted light. Photos are of slightly different angles of backlighting of the same slice of agate. Demonstrating, spectral colors change with the angle of incident light and observation.
