What is a short cervix? Find out how a short cervix can affect your pregnancy, and how it is treated.

Cephalohematoma is a collection of blood under the periosteum of a skull bone. Because of its location, it is impossible for cephalohematoma to cross suture lines. If more than one bone is affected, there will be a separation between the two areas at the suture line as seen in this photo -- the sagittal suture separates the bilateral parietal cephalohematomas. On palpation, these areas feel fluctuent.

Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) and other complications of monochorionic (shared placenta) twin pregnancies like unequal placental sharing are generally diagnosed by ultrasound. These problems do not occur in twins who have two placentas (dichorionic, DC), and therefore it is important to distinguish between MC and DC twins at an ultrasound examination. The earlier in pregnancy, the easier this can be achieved.
