This is my Advent scarf from 2011 which is a sampler of mostly texture based stitches, although there is some lace. There are 24 patterns in all and the scarf is about 7 1/2 wide by 86 inches long. I used a sportweight yarn, but a fingering weight would yield a narrower and shorter scarf and likewise a heavier yarn would create a longer and wider scarf. I used about 600 yds of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool for the prototype. The scarf pictured though used Queesland Joey’s Baby Silk.
