At the beginning of 2021, we met the DEDON team for the first time and the task was clearly formulated: To re-think and redesign the PoS tools used to present and sell fibers, fabrics and tabletop samples.

The colours are ideally combined – dark green evoking the breathtaking nature found in Switzerland, red forever linked to the Swiss coat of arms. A clear typography – following a concrete grid – underlines the level of quality to be expected of the product. With sustainability in the choice of glass as a material, authenticity in the design and a certain savoir boire, we are happy to place this project on any table in the world. Cheers!

We don't develop real estate, we develop your home – is the credo with which Bauplan Nord, founded in Flensburg over 20 years ago, has created a name for itself. We were tasked with designing an elegant and modern corporate identity to mark both the passing of the torch in this family business, as well as the expansion of their offices into Hamburg. The word mark was given the flexibility necessary for the demands of contemporary media, all the while maintaining a high standard of quality.

The new color scheme is cozy and inviting, complimented by the typography – a combination of Antiqua "FS Brabo" and Grotesque "Spezia". Each individual Bauplan Nord project is given its own unique corporate design, adapted to representing the object's history and location.

The idea of sustainability is reflected in the project Alte Rabenstrasse 3 in the use of the numbers we developed – first seen in the corporate design, and later on display on the property in form of an entranceway clock and the elevator lettering. The word mark has been given an overhaul and underscores the quality of the products and what the brand represents. The monochrome linen products are now found in what we christened the "Heritage Line“, a nod to the real classics from Semikolon. Here, too, the colors have been refreshed. We set the typographic bracket for Semikolon with the font GT America, which we use in 2 cuts depending on the product line.

Drehgriffel is a word made up of two components – Dreh, meaning to twist or turn, which stems from the innovative turning mechanism, and Griffel, based on the oldest writing utensil in the world (from the Greek grapheion). They reflect this deeply rooted traditional company. Consequently, it is no coincidence that the Drehgriffel and the company Leuchtturm1917 were both set up back in the 1920s.
This writing instrument was intended to be something truly special – the perfect combination of an iconic design and a distinctive writing experience. And the Drehgriffel was the result. The deliberate use of old German script of the word mark is playfully juxtaposed with the contrasting modern design. It is basically new – and yet a classic.

We’ve taken our project from the heart to a new level! After around 6 years of working for and with Abhati Suisse, it was time to do a little brush-up on the logo, find a solution for the new SOLID collection – featuring solid shampoos as a first product – introduce some colour to the brand, while still staying true to the branding we developed 6 years ago. Also, we worked with Anouk Jans and Yannick Müller to create tutorials and some video material and with Lilo Klinkenberg on beautiful stills
The creative overall responsibility was consigned to us, including the naming of the brand and products, corporate design, product design, web design and all photographical concepts. The body care line draws upon names of Indian lakes, whereas the names of the hair products derive from Indian rivers. When thinking of the product design, we took the packaging idea of our Abhati candle further: roaming around on a street market in Mumbai, a keepsake wrapped in a sheet of an old newspaper.

The grammage, the coating of the paper and precise channeling coin the look of this unique clutch. We started our own online shop, currently boasting six colours and two sizes. 27 channels, six strips of adhesive tape, two loops and one magnet are handcrafted together in our PETIT FOU workshop. Romanesque letters, inspired by those on Trajan’s Column, form the word mark. The modern grotesque typeface Graphik completes the look together with contemporary colours to lead towards a promising future. The photo concept we created focuses on the supplement of the leather. We began our work based on the concept, that in today’s age of high-technology, a bookmark can easily mark any place in a book; a paragraph, a line, or even a single word. In the era of iPad and Kindle Paperwhite, we think that it is important to hold a real book in your hands from time to time. To turn the pages, to feel the paper, and to smell the printing ink. Yup, we love books! Therefore, being entrusted with this project was a lot like receiving a present. And to top it off, Arjowiggins Creative Papers handed it to us as a “blank check”, giving us a completely free hand on the condition that this bookmark would be included in the FIAC 2013 catalogue. #design
The punching had to be even more precise in order to achieve the desired flexibility and haptics, because the thickness of fine paper is not as uniformly even as technical paperboard used for packaging. We were giving our eye teeth for clients like this: The task was to come up with a new name and a Corporate Design for an orthodontics practice in Switzerland, which is owned and run by an orthodontist, who wanted the brand to stand by itself rather than only together with her name. Possible branches or more practices were a prerequisite as well as the fact that most of her »clients« are rather young – children!

The attached crank sets waves,people and vaudeville performances in motion. The mechanism was developed in collaboration with the set designer Tim John. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises entrusted us to design a multi-stage invitation to the christening of the new luxury liner MS EUROPA 2. For the Save The Date we chose a poster format with classic vaudeville motifs. Typography and color choices followed the corporate design, a sublimation with a sparkling Iriodin finish emphasized the festive character of the event. For the reminder, we designed a card with satin ribbon, a small metal crank and an overlying porthole made of cardboard. #paperlux #design #art

For the bi-annual World Partner Forum 2014, we navigated the guests of this Daimler Financial Services event to the seaside destination Lisbon. True to its motto “A World to Discover” this journey mingled the shapes and colours of the vast oceans with images typical for historic and contemporary Portugal. Simple, playful, visually strong and colourful were parts of the brief. An open bookserved as the beginning of our visual journey. Only by rotating this form, it changes into the letter K (for the German word for children: Kinder) and into a rooftop, symbolizing the house. Put together, a simple and easy to decipher logo is formed in the crayon colours red, yellow and blue. #design #colour #colourful #paperlux
Over ten years ago a sanctuary for infinite phantasy was created: The Kinderbuchhaus in Hamburg-Altona, which literally translated is the children’s book house. A team of bibliophiles dedicates their time and passion towards the upkeep of this jem. Central to it are illustrations from – mostly contemporary – children’s books. We were asked to createa more modern visual look for this  special place. #design #colour #colourful #paperlux
