Jackson Glacier Afternoon
Jackson Glacier sits in the saddle between Blackfoot Mountain(rising to the left with it's pinnacle out of frame) and Mount Jackson(out of frame to the right). The base of Citadel Mountain juts out in the middle of the frame on the left. The Continental Divide runs along the ridge in the back of this image. Most Breathtaking USA National Parks to Visit for Fall Colors
America’s national parks are home to some of the nation’s most spectacular scenery, and many of them become even more magnificent during the autumn season. These especially breathtaking national parks to visit for fall colors make for an ideal post-summer vacation destination, including Colorado, pictured above. It’s renowned for its gorgeous display of Aspens that blanket mountains across the state with brilliant hues of golden bronze and dazzling yellow.
CLICK TO VIEW LARGE This is a sunrise shot of Cracker Lake in Glacier NP. We made the 6 mile hike in and camped overnight just above the lake. It has the most beautiful turquoise color due to the glacial silt that still flows from what was a glacier but is now reduced to a large area of packed snow. The lake is surrounded by Mt Allen and Mt. Siyeh both of which are close to 10,000’ in elevation. Sitting more than 4000’ below is Cracker Lake.
