These Manton dueling pistols were built in 1814; the archetype of the English duelling pistol at its peak. Listed by number in W. Keith Neal and D. H. L. Back The Mantons: Gunmakers, London, 1966 p.254. According to Neal & Black, these duelers were originally owned by General, Sir Martin Hunter, the last surviving British officer to have fought at the battles of Lexington and Concord.
