Growing up in the 1960's in Florida you could still saunter down white sand roads and find some Oak Shaded Gas Station that sold RC Cola and only had one pump.  Not uncommon that you filled up and left the money for the effort in some coffee can placed near the pump.  The way America was - just the way we were.
