In 2007, Japan banned Tamiflu for use in 10-19 year olds after several children died in apparent suicides. Meanwhile in the U.S., the FDA approved the drug for use in children of all ages, including infants. Though it's manufacturer says it is safe, it has not yet released Phase III trial data nearly a decade after it's completion, despite very public requests by the prestigious British Medical Journal.
