Woven waffle screen designed by Studio Samira Boon. | The structure and surface of the woven waffle screen are one and the same; frame = screen and screen = frame. A special combination of weaving techniques and yarns produce a soft 3D fabric with a depth of 10 cm. Hardening this soft textile creates a lightweight 3D panel which is a stable self-supporting structure.

We challenge technical constraints as much as we can. Textiles with a 3d texture trigger the senses: offering distinctive aesthetics and a haptic experience. The fabrics’ 3D structures are created by using different weaving bindings, yarns and layers. The textiles have applications in both interior design and products.
