Stalin wanted the allies out, closed off the Soviet half to supplies from the west to allied areas of the city. Hence the Berlin Airlift. He then went to England, met our Aunt Aileen & the rest is history. With ancestors from Yorkshire, he felt strangely at home there. "You cannot believe how beautiful England is."
