Blenheim Palace | The Long Library. Converted from a picture gallery to a library by the eighth duke (who would have been Consuelo Vanderbilt's father-in-law), the nave-like room stretches 180 feet long and reaches 32 feet high. In 1891, the eighth duke and his wife commissioned Henry Willis & Sons, a highly regarded organ-maker of the Victorian era, to build an organ for the room. It now stands regally at the north end of the library.
