Iron Scale Composite Gusoku. Mid Edo Period, 17th-18th century  Black-lacquered iron zunari kabuto with large hoshi on the edges of the plates, the front lacquered with a red sun, with a gilded-wood dragon maedate. A shikoro of leather scales mounted on fabric, the top row angled upwards, an iron menpo gilded with a leather scale yodare-kake (throat guard), the iron okegawa yokohagi do overlaid with iron scales lacquered-black with the mune ita, waki ita and oshitsuke ita in silver.
