Place mirror on ground to reflect surroundings instead of a real pond. Plant around no fuss no muss. I would put landscape material underneath to cushion the mirror.
You can ditch the pond if you want a water feature with less maintenance needed. A pondless/disappearing waterfall is still a perfect garden focal point!looks the one outside of the chemo window when my mom had treatments.

Cuz I can't grow crap in my SoCal back yard! Rock gardens can help combat the retreat of your flowerbeds. Always a staple in modern landscaping, rock gardens feature large and small colorful rocks scattered artistically across a front or back yard.
Beautiful evergreen trees with a water pond in the middle that goes and goes. This is a place to get away from it all. Just sit and still quiteness, except that from nature. Love the sound of the water singing.
