The Molly Malone statue is located at the end of Grafton Street, opposite Trinity College. Molly Malone was a semi historical, semi-legendary figure who was commemorated in the song 'Cockles and Mussels', a Dublin anthem.
McDaid's has a distinctive Victorian exterior and when you step inside you find an old style bar with a high ceiling and a smattering of chairs and tables. The dimly lit bar has all the atmosphere of a classic Irish pub.
Comet Records opened in 1984 in Chatham Street , off Grafton Street, moved in to Crown Alley and in 1989 to the present premises in Cope Street. Opened in Washington Street in Cork in Closed in but came back in But in 2011 they closed for the last time.
