The Robin has been chosen as the national bird for Britain.

National birds around the world

As Britain chooses the European Robin as its national bird, we take a look at some of the exotic birds other countries have picked as theirs.

European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), most commonly known in Anglophone Europe simply as the Robin, is a small insectivorous passerine bird that was formerly classed as a member of the thrush family (Turdidae), but is now considered to be a chat.

I love to hear a robin singing--it often means that spring has arrived or that a good needed rain is on its way./ Maybe he's singing the old hymn, What a Friend, we have in Jesus!

It's time for dinner children

I guess it's a sign spring time is around the corner because I can hear more and more birds singing. There is a slight motion blur in the lower beak, but I really wanted to capture it singing.

Robins are such sweet little birds! Also, they look gorgeous, not many birds that look this cute. I love these birds so much. Definitely my favourite garden bird!
