(54) March 13 Berlinde de Bruyckere  The use of materials and how they call to skin is so sensuous and emotive. This makes the forms more jarring and bone breaking. I love Bruyckere's larger pieces but it is in this one that I see how she works with materials and shape.  It is complete and yet it is also a study.
