Description: The coat of arms of Chile dates from 1834 and was designed by the English artist Charles Wood Taylor, based on the flag which in turn was inspired by the US Stars and Stripes. It is made up by a field divided per fess (horizontally) in two equal parts: the top one is blue and the bottom, red. A five pointed white star is in the centre of the shield. Illusion: It is interesting to see how an artist shades his work with just one color. Von Tschudi uses blue or black pens, and it is a shame that he only has a small collection of these sketchbook drawings online.
