Marwari love....I love the Marwari breed of horses. Too bad they are not any in the United States. I'd have at least one.

Marwari horse. The Marwari or Malani is a rare breed of horse from the Marwar (or Jodhpur) region of India. Known for its inward-turning ear tips, it comes in all equine colours, although pinto patterns tend to be the most popular with buyers and breeders. It is known for its hardiness, and is quite similar to the Kathiawari, another Indian breed from the Kathiawar region southwest of Marwar.

Marwari (Photograph) #Animal #Equine __________________________________________ It's said there were only 3 conditions the "War Horse of India"/"Marwari Horse" were allowed to leave the battlefield: victory/death/carrying a wounded rider to safety. This rare breed is known for its hardiness, bravery & inward curling ear tips. The Marwari are descended from native Indian ponies crossed with Arabian horses, possibly with some Mongolian influence

Marwari stallion by Manu Sharma. Marwari comes from Marwar region, India. It's supposed to be an old breed together with its probable ancestor Kathiawari. There are 4000 years old paintings with curved-eared horses. Once the Marwari was very priced animal in India and also British army used it as a cavalry mount. When Brits left India and cavalry was considered old-fashioned, lots of Marwaris were lost. Luckily some families continued breeding and the breed is now saved.
