Tsarevich Alexei and Tzarista Alexandra. Never has a son & mother held the fate of a country in their hands nor has the future of a dynasty been so closely tied to the health of a child.

From memoirs of A. Vyubova, "Empress Alix-Alexandra Fedorovna (6 June 1872-17 July 1918), age 46 when murdered, was tall, with thick golden hair down to her knees. She was constantly blushing with shyness like a young girl. Her eyes, huge & profound, came alive when she was in conversation & they laughed. Her husband called her Sunny." From Paul Gilbert in Royal Russia 9 May 2013.
