"Glass beads found at Hedeby (Haithebu), Germany"
Display on Viking Pumphosen ("Rus" pants) at the Wikinger Museum Haithabu. The fabric fragments (crotch) have a wrinkled, crepe-like texture -- the display suggests that this was done by using particularly high-twist yarn during the weaving process and then dipping it in hot water, causing the fabric to shrink and wrinkle.
Rock crystal beads from viking age Birka.
