Altamira Bison - Wanddeko in Steinzeithöhe - keine Architektur, wenn auch von beeindruckender Qualität. www.marchitektur.at

Grotte de Marsoulas : Bison préhistorique. This is a really strange image of a bison. The face is so realistic and the body so stylized. Maybe it has something to do with hunting magic, and/or the spirit of the bison?

The Khoit Tsenkher cave (in Mongolia) is famous for its rock paintings, which have been dated to 17,000–22,000 years ago. Done with light pink and red-brown ochre pigments, the paintings depict Paleolithic fauna such as mammoths and ostriches which are no longer found in the area, as well as camels, ibex, deer, and other more familiar animals. Unfortunately many of the drawings have now been defaced or covered with dust and ar
