Ducal Cap of Styria-Crown of Frederick the Peaceful, born in Innsbruck, was son of Duke Ernest the Iron of the Leopoldinian line of Habsburg family, ruler of Inner Austria, i.e. duchies of Styria, Carinthia & Carniola, & of Ernest's wife Cymburgis of Masovia. He became duke of Inner Austria as Frederick V upon father's death in 1424. In 1440 was elected German king as Frederick IV & in 1452 crowned Holy Roman Emperor as Frederick III by Pope Nicholas V. Made in 1650AD by Jurgen Dargeman using parts of a crown that was made in 1606 for Queen Kristina the Elder of Sweden. Collection (and original photo credits) to Royal Treasury Skattkammaren, Stockholm, Sweden.
