Otto Freundlich, Der neue Mensch (The New Man). 1912. The sculpture, which had been confiscated from the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, was on the cover of the Degenerate art exhibition guide in 1937. Freundlich, German painter and sculptor of Jewish origin, spent much of his career in France. He was arrested in Nazi-occupied France in February 1943 and sent to the Majdanek concentration camp in Lublin (Poland), where he was murdered on March 3, 1943.
The Duvall sisters. Conjoind twins form the 30's after they were seperated from each other by crainial surgey which left one of the twins horrible disfigured and the other quite beautiful. The bond between the girls was so strong that swore never to show their faces in public in light of the fact that the after effects of the surgery gave them freedom from each other and left them alone in a cage.
