Starry or Spangled Owlet-Nightjar, endemic to Papua New Guinea. It is classified as 'Data Deficient' because it is known from only 4 museum specimens and 2 sightings. Two specimens were taken close to the Indonesian border in 1936, one in the far-south-east in 1969, and another unlabeled from the 1920s. The two sightings were from 1962 at Brown River and 2003 in the Western Province at Drimgas road.
