"Reaching for the sun" necklace by Wandie Ortiz. Not a tutorial as such rather an explanation of how her finished product resembles ceramic glazes. Wandie says, "I specialize in painting on polymer clay ... This is accomplished by applying alcohol inks (which is a dye), and alcohol medium, and painting directly onto polymer clay with a brush. Liquid clay is added to seal the color and heat as many times as needed to get the desired look I want." Fabulous I think!

These handmade polymer clay disk earrings were crafted from black polymer clay, silver foil and various shades of alcohol ink. The front features a rainbow of metallic shades and a crackle effect allows the black clay to peek through. The backside is solid glossy black and both front and back are coated in a water based varnish for high shine.
