5.3 in Capitano Romani light cruiser Scipione Africano - very fast (43 knots on trials), these were essentially heavy destroyers, used as flotilla leaders.  Under construction as war broke out, only Scipione saw combat, destroying a British MTB off Sicily in July 1942 and damaging another.  Ceded to France post war, she served as Guichen and was decommissioned in 1961, though not scrapped till 1979.
