Japanese water balloons

They come on a rubber string and have a bit of water in them so they can go up and down (hence the yo-yo).

"Wish Lanterns" doing this. Use the floating lanterns as centerpieces, then at the end of the night, light them and let them float into the sky =] (yes, inspired by Tangled)

(Symbolism) I thought these paper lanterns were a symbol in a Streetcar Named Desire, because Blanche uses Chinese lanterns to hide/cover up her face or to not show her age. She was in a way almost afraid of aging, probably because she married so young so she still acts/feels that she is 16, but her reflection proves otherwise.

And just when you thought paper Chinese lanterns were a cheap and cheerful decorating option, Hermes came to the party.
