Behind the resin screen is the property’s centerpiece: an entry garden that Trainor recast as an outdoor living room. Having completed the restoration of their 1958 Eichler in Sunnyvale, California, a couple hired Monterey-based landscape designer Bernard.

This minimally designed space highlights fire & water. A small black fireplace set in a cement wall makes this space feel cozy, while windows provide a view of the water.
